The overall goal for any class I teach is that you gain historical literacy skills. History is a fluid thing and really up to interpretation. In this class, you will learn to read and analyze documents with a discerning eye. You will question, research, and question again to interpret what YOU think happened. Activities in this class will include reading a variety of texts and documents, but also media literacy - art, photography, political cartoons, etc... Besides writing papers, you will be creating projects: documentaries, websites, art, comics to demonstrate your understanding of the material and to apply what you've learned about being a historian.
